The 311 class specifications the City posts

Human Resources publishes class specifications alphabetically on longbeach.gov. Many cover a whole series in one document (Accountant I to III, Business Systems Specialist I to VI). Each link below opens the City's own file. A class study on this bench starts here: the current specification is the baseline every position audit is measured against.

Series

–

Posted specifications that cover a leveled series (I, II, III and up). Level distinctions are where most reclassification requests land, so we read the distinguishing characteristics first.

Titles on the pay schedule

–

Distinct titles on the 8/22/2026 schedule after merging non-career and confidential variants. More titles than specifications is normal: one series specification covers several pay lines.

What a revision includes

Four parts

RFP 2.1 names them: purpose statement, distinguishing characteristics of each level, examples of duties, and minimum requirements. We add the essential functions and physical demands the ADA analysis needs, and an FLSA note.
